This was one of my recipes from my juice cleanse. I called this my lunch juice, because I always had it midday at the point where I was so hungry I thought I was going to cave in and eat something. But luckily this is a hearty juice and always did a good job of filling me up.

  • 1 Beet
  • 6 Carrots
  • 6 Stalks of Celery
  • 1-2 inch piece of Ginger Root
  • ½ Lemon
Instructions
  1. Add ingredients one by one to a juicer

Beets are a great juice to have on a juice cleanse because not only do they help you detoxify the body but they also nourish and purify the blood. During a cleanse it is really important to keep your blood nourished. This helps keep you strong, blood is the life force of the body. And in Chinese Medicine Beets are one of the best blood nourishing vegetables you can consume. In addition to being a blood booster by building red blood cells, Beets are also packed with antioxidants and anti-inflamatory properties. They help combat heart disease and promote detoxification from toxins. Beets have also shown to reduce the risk of certain types of cancer.


Carrots are known for their high source of Vitamin A which improves night vision. They are also high in Beta-Carotene an anti aging Antioxidant. Carrots help to prevent Heart Disease, Cancer, and reduce the risk of Stroke. In Chinese medicine they also help to detoxify and strengthen the connective tissues of the body.


Celery helps to purify the blood in Chinese medicine. Celery is not only extremely alkalizing, but is also packed full of additional health benefits. It lowers blood pressure, treats cholesterol, contains anti-cancer compounds, hydrates and balances the body’s PH, can be used as a diuretic, is an anti-inflammatory, and can even help treat insomnia.


Ginger is used as an herb in Chinese medicine to treat nausea and upset stomach as well as preventing and treating a colds. In fact if you are feeling any of those symptoms one of the best things you can do is boil up some ginger root and make a tea. I like to include it in my juices to help keep my immune system strong.


Lemon juice is something everyone should consume every day. It is extremely alkalizing and contains tons of Vitamin C. And there is nothing better then a good dose of Vitamin C to boost your immunity. Plus Lemon has anti-viral, anti-septic, and anti-microbial properties.
