  • ¼ of an Avocado
  • ½ of a large Cucumber or 1 small Cucumber
  • Handful of fresh Basil
  • Juice from a ½ lime
  • 1 cup of coconut water
  1. Combine all ingredients in a high powered blender and process until smooth.
I'm lucky to live in Florida where Mango's just fall from the sky, literally. There are Mango tree's everywhere making it a convenient and thrifty ingredient for smoothies. And yes they are really good for you too. Mango's help to prevent a variety of cancers, regulate hormones, and lower cholesterol. They also happen to be very high in iron making them great for anyone with iron deficiency anemia. Mango's can even clear up acne both by consuming them internally and placing the peels on your face externally. So save the peels while making this smoothie and give yourself a facial.

Avocado's make this smoothie nice and thick, so it can really fill you up. They are known for containing all of your good healthy fats that help lower cholesterol. They also contain high levels of Folate and Lutein, which helps to support eye health. Avocados lower blood pressure, and reduce the risk of stroke. They also bring more oxygen and blood flow to the brain, improving cognitive function. And in addition to all their healthy fats they contain a high amount of fiber and promote healthy digestion. They are known for a wide variety and anti-inflammatory benefits due to its high nutrient content. This also makes it a great cancer fighter, and overall one of the best foods you can eat!

Cucumbers are one of the most alkalizing foods out there, and the most hydrating. They have a high silica content making it great for the skin, which is why they are often used in facials and lotions. Because of its cooling nature it acts as an anti-inflammatory both externally and internally. In fact Cucumbers can treat everything from a bad sunburn to a stomach ulcer. In Chinese medicine it is used to treat excess heat in the body and is especially useful in cooling you off during the summer months.

Basil is considered to be the king of herbs for it’s anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It also contains essential nutrients to help improve cardiovascular health.

Not only do limes taste good on everything but they are super alkalizing as well. When your body is alkalized you have more energy and feel more awake. Limes are also very high in vitamin C which will support the immune system. And another reason to use limes is that they contain a compound called limonnoid which is actually shown to kill cancer cells!

Coconut Water will give you all the electrolytes you need and keep your body hydrated and happy.
