Pineapple Green Juice

Pineapple Green Juice

This is a twist on the traditional green juice that I normally have. I was in the mood for something with a more tropical flavor so I switched up my apple and lemon for some pineapple and lime. This is a nice refreshing juice that will keep you cool and healthy in the hot and humid summer months.

Romaine is not only great in a salad but also adds a lot of nutritional value to smoothies and juices as well. Not your typical lettuce, Romaine contains tons of vitamins and nutrients including your B Vitamins, Vitamin A and K, a large amount of Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, and Magnesium.
It even contains Omega 3's and Protein. The other benefit to Romaine is that it is low in Oxalic Acid, which is found in most leafy greens and can block the absorption of certain nutrients. And because of its high water content Romaine is perfect for juicing and extracting a lot of liquid.

Celery juice is not only extremely alkalizing, but is also packed full of additional health benefits. Celery juice lowers blood pressure, treats cholesterol, contains anti-cancer compounds, hydrates and balances the body’s PH, can be used as a diuretic, is an anti-inflammatory, and can even help treat insomnia. In Chinese Medicine celery is known to improve digestion and purify the blood as well.

Cucumbers are one of the most alkalizing foods out there, and the most hydrating. They have a high silica content making it great for the skin, which is why they are often used in facials and lotions. Because of its cooling nature it acts as an anti-inflammatory both externally and internally. In fact Cucumbers can treat everything from a bad sunburn to a stomach ulcer. In Chinese medicine it is used to treat excess heat in the body and is especially useful in cooling you off during the summer months.

Pineapple is great fruit to help cover up the bitterness of the greens without being too sweet. Pineapples have the added health benefit of an enzyme called Bromaline which aids in digestion and acts as an anti-inflammatory. They also happen to be high in Vitamin C as well, giving you a boost to your immune system and your energy!

Limes are not only super refreshing, but super alkalizing as well. When your body is alkalized you have more energy and feel more awake. Limes are also very high in vitamin C which will support the immune system. And another reason to use limes is that they contain a compound called limonnoid which is actually shown to kill cancer cells!
