Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Tahini
 
This dish is so easy and incredible rich tasting. If you've been dieting for New Years and you are looking for a satisfying savory meal this is perfect. I love brussels sprouts, but it's the tahini that makes this dish so creamy and indulgent. Feel free to play with the ingredients and add as much or as little as you like. This recipe makes a great side dish or you can be like me and just make a big bowl of it and make it a meal.

Ingredients
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Tahini
  • Olive Oil
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Sea Salt
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Lemon (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Halve desired amount of Brussels Sprouts, place cut side down on a baking sheet, and lightly coat with Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, and Sea Salt
  3. Bake until lightly browned and tender
  4. Drizzle Tahini over warm cooked brussels sprouts
  5. Optional: saute a minced garlic clove in a little bit of olive oil, combine with tahini and a squirt of lemon for a little extra flavor.

Brussels Sprouts are one of my favorite vegetables, and I think they get a bad rap. If you haven't had tasty brussels sprouts try this recipe, I guarantee you'll love them. And another reason to eat them is that there is a huge correlation between brussels sprouts and cancer prevention. They help to detox cancer causing substances from the body. Brussels sprouts are also high in Vitamins A, C, and E which help support the immune system. They help to combat chronic oxidative stress in the body and have an anti-inflammatory effect. Current research is also proving brussels sprouts as proving helpful in digestive disorders by protecting the stomach lining and preventing the overgrowth of harmful bacteria in the gut.


Tahini which is basically sesame seed butter, has tons of health benefits. For one its packed full of your essential B vitamins as well as Zinc, Magnesium, and Iron. Tahini also increases white blood cells making it amazing for your immune system.
